I’ve led projects most of my career and have held the title of project manager for many years.

So you could say I’ve been in the business of CHANGE.

Getting people from point A to point B. From the current-state to a future-state.

I’ve worked mostly in the IT area, so I’ve helped people through changes in software, hardware, processes, and team culture.

Some projects have been better than others. Some change adoption has been better than others.

There have been failures in projects and change adoption.

What I’ve come to realize is that the organization’s culture and strategy for change are the keys to successful change adoption and sustainability.

The best results occur in organizations where the culture motivates people to operate with empathy, assumption of positive intent, and true listening.

Each level of the organization is curious, open to diverse perspectives, and understands the importance of learning & growing.

The best organizational approach to change has been based on a consistent change strategy.

There’s commitment and ownership to effective change, where everyone plays a part and roles and experiences are clearly defined.

Where decisions are made with input from those impacted.

Where the process of guiding people through change is built into the fabric.

Organizations and even teams with culture and strategy that supports learning and change in these ways truly have a competitive advantage.

The will:
✅ Attract top talent
✅ Grow and prosper
✅ Adapt faster

Have you seen examples of where culture and strategy impacts change adoption and strategy?
