Give your team a heads up on the desired outcomes before the discussion, brainstorming session, or whatever it is you are trying to create or accomplish.
This gives them alone time to think about it. Then provide some alone time during the session for them to record their thoughts. All this happens before they are influenced by others.
There will be time for collaboration, but by giving people time to work alone first, you will get a broader range of ideas to proceed with.
