Here are the 7 wastes of meetings.

🗑️ Defects: (errors, mistakes, scrap, rework, re-testing, replacements): Rework/repeating something because someone was late or not in attendance at the meeting. This is wasted time for all other participants.

🗑️ Overproduction: (Making too much, too early): Completing something (report, analysis, estimates) by yourself without getting feedback from others along the way. Changes take more time and are more complex the later they occur.

🗑️ Overprocessing: (Redundant or unnecessary procedures that do not provide value to the team): Deep dives into topics that do not require the whole team in a meeting. This wastes the time for all other participants.

🗑️ Excess Inventory: (More inventory than what is necessary for a call): Packing too much into a meeting, making it unfeasible to complete everything on the agenda and giving it the appropriate time. Then finishing beyond the stated meeting duration, with a partial team.

🗑️ Time: (Participant idle time): See Defects, Overprocessing, and Excess Inventory. Also, participants that do not engage in meeting discussions when their input or feedback would be useful.

🗑️ Transportation: (Unnecessary or poor movement of information or activity hand-offs): Waiting until the meeting to communicate with others on the team or pass work along to them.

🗑️ Motion: (Unnecessary movement of team members that does not add value): Adding or removing team members during the project duration that impacts the group dynamics and team performance negatively.
