Keys to success:
🔑 Make sure you engage a cross-functional team
🔑 Explain that anyone impacted by the project or change gets a sticky note
🔑 Give the team 3 minutes to start writing and putting sticky notes on the wall
🔑 Pause briefly and give quick reminders of others to add, like department managers, budget holders, influencers, subject matter experts, etc.
🔑 Wrap up the exercise after 2 more minutes
You can use these sticky notes to group people with similar needs into personas. Then you can list their needs as you collect them through observation or interviews.
This exercise is quick, easy, and visible, which makes it very useful.
