The 4 P’s were developed by researchers Kim Cameron and David Whetten.

Plan your meetings using these as a lens to improve the effectiveness of your team meetings.

✅ Purpose: Clearly define and share the reason for the meeting. What type of meeting will it be: kickoff, planning, status, problem solving, technical review, huddle, retrospective, etc? What will you accomplish?

✅ Product: Define the outcome or end result of the meeting. The product might be a decision, alignment, an artifact, new ideas, etc.

✅ People: Invite the people that need to be part of the team to successfully generate the product. Include a decision maker to minimize delays and avoid another follow up meeting.

✅ Process: Set the agenda to add the structure that enables the people to reach the product. Ensure the environment is positive, engaging, and respectful to maximize effectiveness.
